Driving past New Haven and had to stop. Have had Sally's before and wanted to try this So worth the detour. It was fantastic. Saucy. Cheesy. Right amount of char and crunch. Service was quick as it was before noon.

Great pies, affordable, quick service, but a line out the door. They serve $5 drinks in the foyer while waiting though.

Group of 14 on a tour easily seated at noon at two large tables. Service was excellent and Nick was extremely competent. Very crowded but noise level was fine [guess everyone was busy eating!]. Clams Casino with red/white sauce was good but did not live up to the latest New Haven hype. Ordered a small for myself and a small for dining partner and had way too much to eat. A student on a near corner happily received our over-flowing box of take home.

Food excellent, service a hustle and quaint ambiance. Solid pies and would come back here for my pizza fix.

Really good pizza. You gotta get there early to avoid the lines. I think it's much better than Pepe's. Not life changing pizza like some believe but overall definitely worth a try if you are in the area

Totally worth the hype! My friends and I drove from Brooklyn to New Haven just to try this pizza, and it did not disappoint. The sauce is some the best I've ever had, the crust was perfectly chewy and crispy, and there was a perfect amount of cheese. I did a takeout order, so I can't speak much to the ambiance, but it looked like cozy restaurant that's perfect for a casual family dinner. At the takeout window, the service was amazing! Everyone was very nice and helpful, and it only took 15 min to get our order despite the busy Friday night rush. Highly recommend!

Delicious New Haven style pizza! Crunchy and chewy just like a New Haven style pizza should be! Really enjoyed Modern Apizza. I had to try Modern Apizza after trying Frank Pepe's and Sally's Apizza. It did not disappoint. You wait in the front until are seated. The diet soda was tasty too.

I came here to complete the Trifecta of New Haven pizzerias. I consider myself lucky because there wasn't a big line when I got there, but the line was out the door when I left. I ordered a small clam, because when in New Haven, you order the clam pizza. It was quite tasty, but it felt like it was missing something. Red pepper, maybe? At first, I thought three lemon wedges were excessive, but then I realized it probably needed that much lemon juice to brighten the pizza and highlight the clam flavor. My server was nice and the service was well-paced (not too slow, but not too rushed either.

First time trying Connecticut pizza and wow, DELICIOUS! I had the clam (what they're known for), clam casino, veggie bomb, chicken and eggplant. All were so good and the clam was especially juicy. My personal favourites were the chicken and eggplant. There was a short wait of 15 minutes so it wasn't too bad. People funnel in and out fast.

Small quaint pizza restaurant in downtown New Haven. This was my first visit to New Haven and to Modern APizza and the food and service were both great. This salad arrived first and was cold crisp and not overly dressed. Both pizzas arrived quickly and were hot and flavorful. They do not skimp on the toppings and used quality ingredients. This seems to be a frequented restaurant by locals as there was. Wait when we arrived. The establishment is not large and we were seated within a 15 minutes of arriving which is not bad for a Friday night at prime dinner time. I highly recommend if you are in the Re to give modern APizza try!
